Corrections

Report a page that appears inaccurate, misleading, inaccessible, linked to the wrong entity, or unsafe. Gov Influence does not promise a response time, but severity determines review priority.

Submission checklist

  • Include the Gov Influence page URL and the exact statement, total, link, image, or module at issue.
  • Describe the suspected problem and the correction you believe the evidence supports.
  • Include a stable official source URL, record identifier, and applicable date or reporting period when available.
  • State whether the issue concerns identity, privacy, safety, accessibility, source interpretation, or a changed official record.
  • Do not send passwords, API keys, private contributor data, identification documents, or unnecessary sensitive personal information.

Severity and priority

  • Urgent: credible safety, privacy, security, or wrong-person identity risk.
  • Material: an error that changes a core fact, calculation, evidence boundary, or reasonable reading of a page.
  • Substantive: an incorrect source detail, date, label, or omission that matters but does not change the page's central meaning.
  • Minor: spelling, formatting, or presentation that does not alter meaning.

Review stages

The workflow records the report, triages severity, checks the cited source and current official record, reviews identity and calculation inputs, reproduces the issue, determines the correction, regenerates affected data when needed, runs publication QA, and performs editorial review. A request does not guarantee removal of an accurate public record.

How material corrections are disclosed

The affected existing page receives corrected content, a new review date, and an appropriate correction note when the change is material. A site-wide or methodology-relevant correction is also recorded through Project updates. Quiet typographic fixes need not receive a separate public notice. No new correction route is created.
