Registrant coverage in the reviewed filing set
An LDA registrant is the person or organization that files for a client. An outside lobbying firm reports lobbying income for a client; an organization employing its own lobbyists is both the client and employer and reports lobbying expenses.
The counts above classify filing records by their disclosed amount fields and count exact registrant-name strings without merging similar names. They are not a count of resolved firms, offices, employees, or corporate relationships.
A future firm profile must pass exact identity review across filings and amendments and provide enough dated client, issue, amount, and source context to be useful without implying access or effectiveness. No name is promoted to a profile from appearance in a filing alone.
