Public-office directory scope

People are included when reviewed official identity and role records support a useful connection to the bounded collection. Selection is not a judgment about prominence, ideology, effectiveness, or suitability for office.

Identity and office evidence establishes who holds a dated role. Legislative evidence separately establishes facts such as sponsorship of a selected bill. A profile without a selected bill means no bill met this collection’s documented selection rule; it does not mean the official has no legislative record.

Role evidence establishes identity and office. A selected bill is a separate Congress.gov record; an empty bill cell means no bill passed this collection’s selection rule, not that the person has no legislative activity.
